Here is a list of the groups we offer and some points to consider about each one.  Scroll down to hear samples of each type of group.

String Quartet
Two violins, viola, and cello

  • Fullest sound
  • Wide selection of music available. Can play some pop/jazz tunes if requested.
  • Can add trumpet if desired.
  • Can accompany vocalist. May need to write arrangement of accompaniment (though we have several selections in our library for quartet).

String Trio
Two violins and cello

  • Sound not as full (similar to quartet, but one part is missing).
  • Limited selection of music is available for trio.
  • Can add trumpet if desired.
  • Can accompany vocalist.  Will most likely need a custom arrangement of accompaniment.

String Duo
Violin and Cello

  • Thinner sound - only melody and bass/harmony line.
  • Better for small events (under 50 guests)
  • Limited selection of music available.
  • Not enough volume or harmony to support a vocalist or trumpet.
